Within ASML, the manufacturing sector is responsible for delivering lithography solutions to meet both internal and external customer expectations. Our global network of factories depends on robust planning, reliable flow, and data‑driven scenario analysis to operate at world‑class performance.
Global Manufacturing BPI & Strategy (BPI&S) is responsible for driving business improvements and supporting long‑term manufacturing strategy. Within BPI&S, the Business Intelligence & Analytics (BI&A) team supports data‑driven decision‑making across the organization. As part of this mission, we are strengthening our capabilities in Digital Twins and Simulation to enable more predictive, scalable, and high‑quality decision support across our factory network.
As our Senior Engineer, you will drive the development and scaling of Digital Twins, Simulation and AI, help shape the Digital Twin and simulation competence, and act as an ambassador for value creation through Plant Simulation Models. You will connect with factory stakeholders, translate operational challenges into Plant Simulation Models, and support our digital twin evolution. If you enjoy a mix of hands‑on modelling, stakeholder engagement, and competence building, this role is ideal.
Identify simulation/Digital twins opportunities across the factory network, including requirement gathering, hypothesis definition, exploratory workshops, and developing early prototypes to inspire stakeholders.
Build, validate, and maintain plant simulation models for manufacturing flows, logistics, equipment behavior, capacity planning, and scenario exploration.
Drive the development of the internal simulation competence, including standards, templates, modelling guidelines, and long‑term vision.
Translate complex operational problems into structured simulation analyses that provide clear insights and decision support.
Communicate modelling results with senior stakeholders through strong storytelling, clear visuals, and well‑structured recommendations.
A technical Master’s degree (or Bachelor with strong relevant experience) in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Systems Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field.
Experience applying discrete‑event simulation in manufacturing environments/types of Digital twins that can help manufacturing. Currently we mainly use Tecnomatix Plant Simulation and also starting with Tecnomatix Process Simulate
2–5+ years of experience building and deploying simulation models for manufacturing, logistics, or production systems.
Experience building standards, modelling guidelines, or capability frameworks across multiple teams.
Strong ability to influence and connect with senior leadership, acting with commercial awareness and promoting the value of simulation.
Experience with Python, Excel or BI tools for data preparation and analysis.
Ability to drive modelling projects end‑to‑end—from intake to results, recommendations, and value delivery.
Strong analytical and system‑thinking mindset with deep understanding of manufacturing flows.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to inspire and engage stakeholders.
Ability to balance helicopter view with detailed modelling when needed.
Continuous improvement mindset for both modelling performance and competence building.
